Jayson had a good job at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He enjoyed steady pay and great benefits, and they provided a feeling of financial security. His family wanted him to stay. But Jayson was working nights in order to spend his days building decks, and somewhere along the way, it became clear that the building was not going to remain a side project for him. He loved being outside. He loved working with his hands. He loved seeing a backyard go from nothing to something a family would use every single day. So he left, gave up the security of a job with the Port Authority, and went all in on building decks.
Deck Crafters has been focused entirely on custom decks ever since, and Jayson still manages every project himself, from the initial consultation to the final walkthrough.
